Covered call app for iPhone

OptionsKing runs on iPhone today through the browser at optionsking.app, and it is free. The iOS app is built but is not on the App Store yet, so anyone telling you to download it is pointing at something that does not exist. Here is what works right now.

Straight answer first, because the rest of this page is not worth much if it starts with a fudge. There is no the App Store listing. The iOS shell is built and runs the same bundle the web app runs, and it will be submitted, but today the way you use OptionsKing on a iPhone is the browser.

Open optionsking.app in Safari, tap the share button, then Add to Home Screen. It gets an icon and opens without the browser chrome. It behaves like an app after that.

What it does on iPhone

• Scores covered call candidates on your watchlist 0 to 100 and hides everything below 60, with 75 the recommended bar.
• Shows the strike, the credit, the break-even, the annualized return and the odds of keeping the shares.
• Records what you actually collected, and what the position returned against just holding the stock.
• Runs twelve calculators with no account and no data stored.

What it never does, on any platform: connect to a brokerage account, place an order, or claim a delayed quote is live.

What to look for in any covered call app

• Does it show liquidity on the row? Open interest and the spread decide your fill. A yield without them is half a number.
• Does it flag earnings inside the expiry? That single date changes the trade more than the strike does.
• Can it tell you there is nothing worth doing today? Most cannot, because an empty screen looks like a broken app.
• Does it keep score? If it never revisits the trades it suggested, you have no way to know if it helped.

The alternatives on iPhone

Your broker's own app is the obvious one, it is free, and its chain is real-time and authoritative on fills. Where OptionsKing is weak

It is new. Neither app is in the App Store or on Google Play yet, so today it runs in a browser and that is the whole distribution story. It covers 60 tickers on the public data pages, not five thousand. It does one strategy family, premium selling, and it has nothing to say about spreads, calendars, or anything you would put on in a directional bet.

And the gate cuts both ways. On the first public snapshot, taken in a dead-flat low-volatility tape, not one strike across all 60 names cleared the 75 bar. Zero. A screener with a looser bar would have handed you a full page of ideas that week, and some of them would have worked out fine.
